The income tax officials who are questioning actor Vijay for the past 48 hours have found Rs.65 crore from Vijay’s financer, a report by new agency ANI said.
The Income Tax Department recovered Rs 65 crores from the residence of Tamil actor Vijay's financer in Chennai during raids on Thursday. The department continues its raids and surveys at the residences of actor Vijay and financier and producer Anbu Chezhiyan residences. Around 38 premises have been covered in the raid. The raid was in connection with an alleged tax evasion case linked to AGS Cinemas, said sources. According to IT sources the counting of money is still on so there are chances of unearthing more money. It is learnt that the IT officials conducted raids at Chennai and Madurai properties of Anbu Chezhiyan. Now IT officials are trying to find the money source.
Vijay's wife was at Chennai home when IT sleuths carried out a raid at his residence. Around six to seven IT officials have been there inside the house.
IT officials denied some media reports that actor Vijay was picked up from the shooting location of ‘Master’. Actually, it was actor Vijay who had cut short his shooting and returned to his home immediately after came to know about the raids.
The actor was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Master’ in Neyveli when he received the news of the raid.
