IT Department drops case against Rajinikanth

The Income Tax Department has dropped a case against Rajinikanth regarding with the concealment of income for two years.

Tamil film star Rajinikanth, against whom the Income Tax Department on January 28 withdrew proceedings related to alleged concealment of income between the financial years 2002-2003 and 2004-2005, had claimed to be in the “money lending business”.

According to a report published by ‘The Hindu’ revealed that Rajini had furnished information to the IT that apart from his acting and production he was into the ‘money lending business’ and taking interest of 18 percent for the same. The actor had claimed to have issued loans to the tune of ₹2.63 crore in 2002-2003, the report said.
