Puducherry, Oct 30: AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan on Wednesday charged that DMK leader M K Stalin is criticizing the state government for political gain in the death of Sujith who fell into a deep bore well at Manapparai in Tamil Nadu and died.
Talking to media here, Mr Anbazhagan said this amounts to belittling the death of the boy and is an inhuman remark. Mr Stalin needs to be condemned for his remarks. This also clearly shows that Stalin is yet to be matured in politics. Referring to Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy’s statement yesterday that the administration is prepared to meet the eventualities arising out of the rain here, Anbazhagan said that this is only a statement for the day’s news. In fact, a rescue team integrating different departments is yet to be constituted and the PWD and fire Service departments are not having the required equipment to cut out and remove fallen trees or fallen electric posts, he said.
To substantiate his claim he said yesterday power supply to 6,000 houses in his constituency was affected as a tree fell over the power lines at 5-45pm. The power to those houses were restored only at 9-45pm, he added.
As such, the Chief Minister's statement is to eye wash the people and for one day news,he charged. When the government is defunct it is the duty of the district collector to take responsibility,he said and called up on the district collector to take adequate steps to face the situation arising out of the incessant rainfall here.
