India most attractive education hub: Naqvi

Chennai, Oct 5 : Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said thanks to the efforts of the Narendra Modi Government, India has become one of the most attractive and affordable “Education Hub” of the world.

Delivering the ninth convocation address of B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology at suburban Vandalur here, he said providing affordable, accessible and quality education to all sections of the society was the priority of Modi led-Government. Naqvi said the New Education Policy would lay the foundation of empowered and strong India. it would bring a revolutionary change in the education system.

Pointing out that there were 16 Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in the country before 2014, he said the Modi Government started seven new IITs in the last five years.

While there were nine Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) before 2014, the Government  started 15 new ones, he said. Seven new Indian Institutes of Management were added to the 14. (UNI)
