Chennai, Sep 26: In a big push to the industrial development, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday signed MoUs for 15 new projects worth Rs 5,574 crore.
At a function held at the State Secretariat, he also laid foundation for five new projects and inaugurated production in three other units.
An official release the 23 projects, tally valued at Rs 7,175.71 crore, will generate 45,846 jobs.
Among the top companies, who inked pact with the State government for setting up their facilities included TCS, Infosys, Germany-based Schwing Stetter (already present in the State), Nissei of Japan, Younghwa of Korea, Mahle from Germany, among others.
The signing of MoUs and launching of vrious projects comes close on the heels of Mr Palaniswami's recent tour to the UK, US, and Dubai, where he had signed 41 MoUs attracting investments worth Rs 8,835 crore in various sectors. (UNI)
