Chennai, Sep 19 : The General Council of the Opposition DMK, the highest policy-level decision making body, would be held here on October six.
In a statement here on Thursday, DMK General Secretary K Anbazhagan said the meeting to be chaired by Party President M K Stalin, would be held at YMCA ground in the city at 1000 hrs. All the General Council members were asked to attend the meeting without fail.
The meeting would discuss about the constructive activities of the party, changes in party rules and reports of the audit committee. It was in the same General Council held on August 28 last year Mr Stalin was elected unopposed as the second President of the
DMK, that heralded a new era in Tamil Nadu's opposition party that was led by his father late M Karunanidhi, for five decades. Mr Stalin was elevated to the post after the death of his father on August seven last year.
Mr Karunanidhi became the first president of the DMK in 1969.(UNI)
