Chennai,Aug 28 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said his two-week three Nation foreign tour was aimed at bringing in more investments to the State. Talking to reporters at the airport before his departure to UK, US and Dubai, he said ''I am not a businessman, I am a normal farmer. I am embarking on this trip for the benefit of the people, to improve the State's economy and create more jobs''.
He said he would explain about the quantum of investments to state would attract on his return. On DMK President and Opposition leader M K Stalin's criticism on his foreign visit, Mr Palaniswami, while making it clear that his visit was based on the invitation extended by companies during the second Global Investors Meet held here in January this year, also sought to know the frequent foreign visits undertaken by Mr Stalin.
''What is the mystery behind Stalin's frequent foreign visits'', he asked. ''What is the reason...he (Stalin) has not disclosed it, but he is demeaning my visit'', Mr Palaniswami said. Earlier, a large number of AIADMK cadres lined up on the roads leading to the airport to greet the Chief Minister. UNI
