Amaravati, Aug 9: Tamil Nadu Ministers S P Velumani , D Jayakumar and Principal Secretary Munivasan met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy here on Friday and appealed to him to release water to Tamil Nadu through Telugu Ganga canal. The Chief Minister responded favourably.
The team explained that 90 lakh people of the Chennai city were craving for drinking water as acute scarcity was prevailed. They urged him to release water from the Krishna through Telugu Ganga canal. Mr Reddy directed officials concerned to take steps to release water.UNI
