Chennai, July 22 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday termed as 'historic achievement for India and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)', for the successful launch of second Lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2 by GSLV-MkIII-M1 from the spaceport of Sriharikota.
In a statement here, he said this achievement will undoubtedly inspire and stimulate young minds in India to take up scientific research and development. He said 'it is a matter of great pride for the country that our Indian scientific community has been able to successfully place “Chandrayaan-2”in the orbit today.' 'This is a historic achievement for India and the ISRO', he said, adding, 'on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, I extend my hearty congratulations to all the scientists and engineers for placing India in the very select band of countries, which has developed the capability for soft landing on the Moon'.
