Taking forward the probe into links of some youths in South India with those behind the Easter blasts in Sri Lankan churches, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) undertook raids at seven places in Coimbatore on Wednesday.
NIA sources said the raids, jointly by officials from Kerala and Coimbatore, were in the wake of reports of some youths staying in touch with those involved in Lankan blasts through social media. Questioning of some youths in Kerala also led to the Coimbatore raids.
These were in continuation with earlier ones held in Kerala and Coimbatore. NIA was also looking at the links with some youths from Kerala trying to join Islamic State, the sources added.
The raids were conducted at houses in Ukkadam, Anbu Nagar, Kuniyamuthur and Podanur. There were no reports so far about any seizure.
