Chennai, Apr 21 : Christians in Tamil Nadu today celebrated
easter, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion,
with religious fervour.
Special prayers and services were held in all churches across
Thousands of faithfuls, including women and children, thronged
the churches to attend the special midnight mass.
The churches were tastefully decorated and illuminated to mark

In his greetings, Mr Banwarilal Purohit said the holy day of Easter
was celebrated all over the world as the day of resurrection of Lord
''On this auspicious occasion I extend my heartiest greetings and
best wishes to all our Christian brothers and sisters'', he said,
according to a Raj Bhavan communique.
''Let us all on this festival day resolve to uphold the virtues of
love, compassion, hope, morality and faith in our lives so as to
create a better future for all of mankind'', the Governor said.
The Chief Minister said “let peace, love and harmony fill the air
across the world and everyone practise what Jesus Christ preached.”

secretary Vaiko, PMK Founder Dr S Ramadoss, former Union Minister

various political parties also extended their greetings.
