AIADMK, PMK condemn Lanka blasts

Chennai, Apr 20 : Various political parties in Tamil Nadu, including the ruling AIADMK and PMK, strongly condemned the multiple blasts in Churches and Hotels at Colombo in Sri Lanka and termed them as 'inhuman' and 'merciless' attack.

In a joint statement here, AIADMK Coordinator and Deputy Chief

Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday said they were deeply saddened
by the blasts at Churches where Christians have congregated to
celebrate Easter, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ after
crucifixion.

They also strongly condemned the blasts which occurred in Churches
located in areas where Tamil Christians predominantly live. 'The incident showed how merciless the perpetrators are as they
triggered blasts on innocent people while offering prayers', they said
and termed it as 'totally inhuman and merciless'.

They also expressed shock and grief over the deaths of more than
100 people in the blasts and expressed their heartfelt condolences
to the bereaved families. They also wished all the injured, undergoing treatment at hospitals, a speedy recovery. Dr Ramadoss took the twitter platform to condemn the blasts.
