Chennai, Feb 26 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, leaders cutting across party and political affiliations, including DMK President MK Stalin, Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth, on Tuesday hailed the IAF air strikes destroying JeM terror camps in Balakot to avenge the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred.
In a statement here, Palaniswami lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the daring action aimed at eradicating terrorism. ''On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, I congratulate Mr Modi for his daring action in destroying the terorrist camps operating from Pakistan through IAF air strikes to root out terrorism'', he added. ''Because of the brave action of the Prime Minister, who is tasting victories in eliminating terrorism, IAF today destroyed terrorist camps. I convey my heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the people of Tamilnadu,' Palaniswami said.
Mr Stalin also hailed the IAF strikes and termed it as an exceptional act of valor. Stalin tweeted ''Proud of our #IndianAirForce pilots for their exceptional act of valor''. Welcoming the strikes, PMK Founder Dr S Ramadoss said the whole of India see this (destroying of terror camps) as a great respect to the 40 martyrs, including two from Tamil Nadu, who sacrificed their lives'', he added.
Praising the Indian Air Force, actor-politician and Makkal Neethi Maiam (MNM) Founder Kamal Haasan and saluted the valour of the “heroes.” The country is “proud of its heroes,” he tweeted. “Our 12 (apparently fighter jets) return safely home after wreaking havoc on terrorist camps in Pakistan. India is proud of its heroes. I salute their valour,” he said. (UNI)
