Chennai, Jan 16: A gypsy woman and her three-year-old daughter were found murdered inside their tent at Narikurava Colony in Avadi on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday morning.
Police said the woman and her daughter were found crushed to death using a huge stone. Police were conducting inquiries with six suspects in connection with the incident. The woman's husband had gone to Puducherry to sell beads when the incident took place. Police said the woman, Roja and her daughter were talking to the family in the adjacent tent and went to sleep at 10 pm last night.
Usually, they start early in the morning to sell beads near the railway station. The neighbours told the police that they entered her tent this morning and found them in a pool of blood. Police have detained six suspects, including the main suspect, identified as Veerakumar (19), a fortune teller from Katpadi. (UNI)
