Chennai, Dec 8: Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swami was on Friday evening airlifted from Bengaluru and admitted at the Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre here for further management of his liver and bile-duct infections.
The 111-year-old Seer was suffering from cholecystitis (inflammation of the gall bladder). Hospital sources said a team of experts were closely monitoring him, treating his liver infection and exploring further treatment options.Dr Mohamed Rela, the Chairman and Director of hospital said the Seer was
suffering from an inflammation of the gall bladder and required a liver bypass surgery.
“The only option is a liver bypass. We still have to assess his condition before deciding on operating him as his age is a major factor,” he said.(UNI)
