DMK to hold State-wide demo against “corrupt” Edappadi Govt

A meeting of district secretaries and legislators of the DMK today decided to hold demonstrations in all district headquarters in Tamil Nadu on Sept 18 to expose the “corrupt deeds” of the Edappadi Government.

The meeting, presided over by general secretary K Anbazhagan and attended by president M K Stalin and other top functionaries, also decided to press for the removal of Health Minister C Vijayabhsakar and Director-General of Police T K Rajendran following CBI raids in their houses by the CBI in connection with the Rs 40-crore gutka payoff scandal.

The meeting, attended by 68 district secretaries and all the 88 MLAs, also resolved to resist the attempt by the Modi Government to “saffronise the country”.

By another resolution, the party called on cadres to make a success of the Bharath Bandh called by alliance partner Congress on Sept 10 in protest against the ever-increasing prices of petrol and diesel.

The meeting also demanded the release of Perarivalan and six other convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination cases without any further delay. It called on the State Cabinet to send a recommendation to the Governor in this regard.
