Unidentified persons today lobbed a petrol bomb at the office of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) in Shillong.

No one was injured in the attack, police said. The incident occurred at a time when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is in town attending the 67th plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council here in Meghalaya.

Governors and chief ministers from other northeastern states, besides Development of North Eastern Region(DoNER) Minister Jitendra Singh, are also attending the high profile meeting.

Superintendent of Police in-charge Shillong City, Stephan Rynjah said that the incident occurred around 0800 hours this morning when unidentified persons lobbed the petrol bomb at the office room of MPSC secretary WAM Booth.

"We do not know who these attackers are but investigations have started to zero in on the perpetrators," Rynjah said. (UNI)
