In view of restrictions imposed in the Kashmir Valley on the occasion of second death anniversary of Hizbul Mujaheedin terrorist Burhan Wani, no fresh batch of pilgrims was allowed to proceed to Amarnath cave Shrine from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas here on Sunday.
"As preventive measure, no fresh batch of pilgrims was allowed to move towards the Kashmir valley," an official here said.
He said that curfew has been imposed in the valley sensing law and order problem due to strike called by the Separatists. Burhani was killed on July 8 2016 after an encounter with security forces. "The pilgrims at Baltal and Pahalgam will be allowed to move towards the cave shrine," said an official.
Earlier the yatra remained suspended for two days from Jammu on July 5 and 6 due to heavy rains and rush of pilgrims at Pahalgam and Baltal base camps. (UNI)
