Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday visited Guruvayur temple and paid obeisance before Lord Krishna.
Rajnath Singh entered the temple for Nirmalya darshan along with other temple staff at 3 am on Saturday morning. Singh was received by the main priest. After obeisance to main deity of Lord Krishna, Home Minister went around and spent nearly 45 minutes inside the temple. Devaswam Chairman KB Mohandas explained the minister the importance of the temple and the rituals.
After returning to the guest house, Singh had breakfast and left for Kochi enroute to Delhi. Earlier, Rajnath Singh was received by collector T V Anupama and other senior officials when he arrived at Guruvayur on Friday evening. He stayed at the temple guest house on Friday night.
The temple authorities submitted a memorandum to the Home minister enlisting various schemes for the development of Guruvayur and facilities need for the devotees. UNI
