The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday seized a huge amount of gelatin explosive from Lugu Pahar area of Bokaro district in Jharkhand.
The NIA team discovered the explosive dumped in Lugu Pahar area after the disclosure of an arrested Maoist and Zonal member of North Chhotanagpur Zonal Committee Mahavir Manjhi alias Charlees.
Earlier, on May 29, 2018, the NIA team also discovered huge arms cache from the aforesaid area which was dumped by the Maoists.
NIA is investigating a case RC-19/2018/NIA/DLI and got information from the interrogation of Manjhi.
The background of the case is that in the intervening night of March 5-6, 2018, the Jharkhand Police arrested 15-armed Maoist cadres including functionaries of CPI (Maoist) from village Akabakitanr in Giridih district with 12 regular weapons, 60 ATM (SBI) cards, 199 letters of thanks issued by Allahabad Bank, for opening accounts and 1125 Aadhar cards.
NIA took over the case from Jharkhand Police in April this year. (UNI)
