In the backdrop of a tourist killed in stone pelting in Kashmir, Minister of Sate in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that it is a crime equivalent to terrorism.
While condemning the killing of a tourist in an incidence of stone pelting by protesters in the outskirts of Srinagar city on Monday evening, Dr Singh at the sidelines of a function here said, "such incidents amount to be the crime equal to terrorism which would be dealt strictly".
"Such incidents would be a big jolt to the middle class people in Kashmir Valley who depend on tourism for their livelihood," and added that the psuedo agenda of some vested interests responsible for violence in Kashmir stands exposed to the world.
He however, also slammed previous NC-Congress dispensation asserting that the prevailing Kashmir situation is due to their wrong policies in the state and the Centre. (UNI)
