Heat waves claims a life in Palamu, mercury reaches 44 degrees

The temperature in the Palamu district has reached the 44 degree Celsius mark giving the people a tough time who are already grappling with heat waves and the scorching sun.

For the last three days, the temperature has been moving up in the district and today the heat waves claimed its first victim, a 55-year old man from Pandu Police Station area. The initial probe said the man died of heat waves popularly known as 'looh'.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature was 41.2 degree Celsius which went up to 43 degrees yesterday while today it was 44 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature of the district was also increasing. If the reports of the weatherman are to be believed then in the next three days the temperature will further rise in the district. UNI
