MET predicts heavy rainfall in Kerala

Meteorological Departament has issued a warning of Heavy Rainfall (between 7 to 11 CM) most likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala till the morning of April 15.

It said on Friday that squally weather with wind speed occasionally reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over Comorin area and Maldives area on April 13 and over Lakshadweep area on April 14.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into Comorin area and Maldives area on Friday and over Lakshadweep area on Saturday, MET added.

Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is likely to prevail in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kollam, Kottayam, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram districts till 1700 hrs this evening. Rain occurred at many places in Kerala. (UNI)
