Kerala Government has issued a warning asking fishermen not to venture into sea for fishing following the formation of a low pressure area over the south of Kannyakumari.
"A low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka-South Tamil Nadu coasts and associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid Tropospheric levels persists. It is likely to become more marked and move westwards during the next 48 hours," a MeT release said here.

In a facebook post, Chief Minister Pinayi Vijayan cautioned that the low pressure area will move closer to Lakshwadweep and get strengthened.
"Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea off Thiruvananthapuram Coast of South Kerala during the next 36 hours," District Collector K Vasuki said in a release here on Saturday night.
