Former union agriculture minister and Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) president Sharad Pawar stated that the state government has failed in solving farmers' problems and they do not have the right to be in power.
Pawar was speaking on Saturday night at the conclusion of the North Maharashtra's ''halla bol'' rally in the city. The rally has been started last month by the Nationalist Congress Party to protest against the policies of the Union and state governments.
He said the agriculture sector is the backbone of our nation and about 60 per cent population are dependent on the agriculture instead of solving problems of farmers who feed the nation, they were forced to stand in queues for loan waiver.
The government did not give loan waiver, but took the belongings of farmers for recovery of the loan and maligned their image in society.
