Telangana government will set up clean authority on the lines of existing agency in Tokoyo to address environment issues, said State Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday.
In an inaugural addressing at the 66th National Town and country planners congress 2018 being organised by the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI), the apex body of qualified professional town and country planners, here, Rama Rao said Telangana will be first state in India to be creating its own clean authority.
The Telangana government had recently entered into an MoU with Clean Authority of Tokyo (CAT)
in the field of municipal solid waste incineration facilities, he said.
"We are also going to adopt the same mechanism which is using by CAT and we will set up several
waste-to-energy units mainly at towns and urban areas in the state," the Minister stated.
