A 14-year-old Scheduled Caste girl student allegedly committed suicide for not being allowed to attend classes by a private school due to non-payment of fees, in Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

Sai Deepathi who is studying in Jyothi Model School, hanged herself at her residence at Malakjgiri in the city, police said here.
In her suicide note, she said, "Sorry Mummy". The school did not allow her to write the exam, the police said.

The school teacher and two officials of the school were arrested on Friday and produced in the court. Besides registering abetment of suicide under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code against the three, the police also invoked the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities)
Act against them, the police added.
