Five people, including a woman, were killed in a fire that broke out at a bar in Bengaluru in the wee hours of Monday. The fire was broken out at Kailash bar and restaurant which is located in the ground floor of Kumbaara Sangha building in the busy Kalasipalya market, a busy area in the heart of Bengaluru city. Fire officials said that all five, the employees of the bar, were sleeping inside the bar and might have died due to asphyxiation.

Three of the victims are in their early twenties. The five deceased have been identified as Swami, 23, Prasad, 20, Mahesh, 35, (all three natives of Tumakuru), Manjunath, 45, native of Hassan, and Keerthi, 24, native of Mandya. The fire happened at Kailash Bar and Restaurant.

Passers-by alerted the fire and emergency services at 2:30 am after they noticed smoke billowing out of Kailash Bar and Restaurant. Two fire tenders and a fire rescue vehicle were immediately pressed into action. The fire was doused by early morning and five bodies were recovered.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Kalasipalya police have registered a case and are probing further.
