Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin lashed out at Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) after he was denied entry into the Association's Special General Meeting (SGM) on Sunday.
The 54-year-old alleged that he was made to wait for an hour outside the venue and was allowed to enter the venue after the intervention of the Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao.
"When I was banned, I did not enter HCA and now when BCCI has cleared me, you cannot stop me from attending the meeting," Azhar told mediapersons.
"I was made to wait for an hour and wasn’t allowed to attend the meeting. I captained India for 10 years for god’s sake. I will solve your problems, that’s why I have come here,” the former skipper further added.
"Everything in HCA has become undemocratic. We are making efforts to clean up the mess. Many leagues are stopped abruptly without reason,” Azhar said.
The former cricketer further alleged that the HCA has become an illegal body and the president is himself facing a conflict of interest as by being Advisor to the State Government.
