Rebel JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav has filed a fresh plea before the Election Commission for claiming party symbol.
Party general secretary Arun Kumar told reporters that party national executive will meet on Sunday in a show of support for Yadav and it will be followed by a national council meeting on October 8. He claimed that all the state units were with Yadav in his fight against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The Election Commission on September 12 had rejected Sharad Yadav faction's claim of being the 'real party', saying that evidence given by them was not sufficient. According to Election Commission sources, the poll panel has sent communication to Yadav's camp in response to their application saying it was not supported with valid documents. The Nitish Kumar faction of JD(U) on September 8 had urged the Election Commission to reject the claim of Sharad Yadav faction over the party symbol saying they have no locus standi as the party led by Kumar only was the real JD(U)
