BJP today sought to defend Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal against allegations that he did not act strictly in controlling the Dera violence.
Talking to reporters, Haryana BJP in-charge Anil Jain dismissed reports that Central leadership had summoned the State Chief Minister in wake of a fallout of the violence in Haryana by followers of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim’s conviction in a rape case.
Jain said the State Administration's aim was to make people surrender without any blood bath.
He said the administration did its job to control the situation and pointed out that all those killed were followers of Ram Rahim so it would not be fair to say that the Government did not act to control the situation.
Jain appealed to all political parties not to politise the issue and help in maintaining peace in the state.
