Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today said that there were intelligence reports that the state unit of the BJP might unleash violence to divert attention from the medical scam involving local BJP leaders. Replying to questions in the state Assembly, he said the government had taken various steps in the wake of intelligence reports that the BJP wanted to divert attention from the issue that badly affected its image in the state. He said the government could effectively curb the violence in Thiruvananthapuram and took all the suspects into custody.
'We are committed to bring all the accused before law irrespective of their party affiliation.' The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau had already initiated an inquiry into the allegation that private medical college owners paid crores of rupees to BJP leaders to get recognition to certain medical colleges.
