Kolkata, Apr 27: After inspiring many Indian cricketers to excel their talents, former captain and chief of Indian cricket board SouravGanguly now become now an inspiration for police forces to ensure lock-down and fight Covid-19 successfully, Ganguly in his Twitter account sent a kudos to Kolkata Police for their untiring services to the city people in this difficult time to ensure lock-down and defeat the Covid-19.

" Thank u to kolkata police for your service to the city in this difficult times," the former Indian skipper and president of BCCI said in his Twitter. In reply Kolkata Police Commissioner Anju Sharma re-tweeted and said, "Thank you SGanguly99 for your encouragement! It will motivate Kolkata Police, K P Traffic Dept to carry on its Fight Against Corona We Care We Dare Lockdown. Day and night the Officers & men of Kolkata Police & KP Traffic Dept ensure #lockdown in Kolkata Stay Aware Stay Safe We Care We Dare."

At a separate briefing, Sharma said, "All the main roads and lanes under Eastern Suburban Division are under extensive surveillance to ensure complete lockdown. Wide empty stretches of road in different parts bear testimony to lockdown in the city to fight Corona. Market places are being very closely monitored to ensure that everyone strictly observes and complies with social distancing norms." (UNI)
