Wellington, Mar 15 : New Zealand speedster Lockie Ferguson arrived back home on Sunday after testing negative for the COVID-19 at the end of first ODI against Australia in Sydney. Both the teams which were to play the remainder of the two series were postponed due to impact of the coronavirus. “I just had very mild cold symptoms, but the procedures were as they were and followed by the support staff,” he said.
The Chappell-Hadlee series is not the only tournament to be postponed with the impact of coronavirus, but around the globe all sporting events have been either been cancelled or put on hold. India's three-match ODI series against South Africa was cancelled after first ODI at Dharamsala was abandoned without a ball being bowled while the cash-rich IPL has been postponed till April 15.
