Holi reveller dies after drowning in Thane

Thane, Mar 10 : A 32-year-old man, zealously celebrating the Holi, reportedly died after drowning in a creek in Kalyan city here on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Surindar Vikram Singh, a construction worker in Maharal village of Kalyan. A group of workers, including Surindar, revelling in Holi celebration went to swim in the creek. However, Surindar died due to drowning, after which his body was fished out by firemen, said police.

Kalyan Taluka Police Station Sub-Inspector Bajrang Rajput stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem. He said that a case of accidental death has been registered. (UNI)
