Auckland, Feb 7: After suffering a shocking defeat to hosts New Zealand in the first ODI, Team India will look to bounce back as they face rejuvenated Black Caps in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Eden Park, here on Saturday.
In the first ODI of the series on Wednesday, India were not able to defend a mammoth 348-run target as New Zealand rode on Ross Taylor's unbeaten ton to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
However, India have reason to feel confident in their abilities to level the series and set up a decider as they did the same against Australia at home, wherein they bounced back from a 10-wicket opening defeat to take the series 2-1.
The main area of concern for Men in Blue will be in the bowling department, which has been a bit expensive at times.
While the ability to pull the game back in the death stages is admirable, India will be more advantaged if they are able to maintain the intensity more uniformly through the course of the innings.
The likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja were pretty expansive in the first game and even pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Md Shami and Shardul Thakur were not able to put pressure on the Kiwi batters and looked ordinary.
India could make a couple of changes in the bowling line-up with Shardul Thakur making way for Navdeep Saini while Yuzvendra Chahal could come in for Kuldeep. (UNI)
