Muscat, Jan 31: The Oman International Drift Championship, in its third edition, kicked off here Thursday with the participation of 48 contestants from 17 countries.
According to a statement of the Oman Automobile Association championship organizer, the first stage held on the Muscat Arena Circuit on Thursday evening would witness the elimination of 16 contestants. The remaining 32 will continue to compete on Friday.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Automobile Association Salem bin Ali AlMaskari told Xinhua that motorsport in the Sultanate is receiving great care and attention by providing all possible means to implement and establish local and international championships at high levels that enhance Oman's presence on the motorsport world map.
