Lucknow, Nov 28 : Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and Sourabh Verma entered the quarter-finals in men's singles at the Syed Modi International Badminton tournament, here on Thursday.
Third seed Srikanth outclassed his compatriot Parupalli Kashyap 18-21, 22-20, 21-16 in a contest which lasted for 67 minutes. Srikanth will now face seventh seed Son Wan Ho of Korea in the Super 300 tournament.
In another clash, Sourabh Verma defeated fellow Indian Alap Mishra in straight games 21-11, 21-18 ending the game in just 28 minutes. He will now will face Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsar who accounted for World Championships bronze medallist B Sai Praneeth 21-11, 21-17 in another round two match.
Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen, who has been on a roll with title wins at Belgian International, Dutch Open, SaarLorLux Open and Scottish Open last week, went down to the experienced Son Wan Ho 21-14, 21-17, a former world no 1. (UNI)
