Greater Noida, Oct 9 : The Haryana Steelers will be up against U Mumba in Pro Kabaddi League season seven, here at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex on Thursday.
Haryana will be looking to continue their good form after beating Telugu Titans 52-32 in their previous match in Panchkula on Friday.
Ahead of the clash, Raider Prashanth Kumar Rai expressed that the match against U Mumba will serve as good preparation ahead of the playoffs.
''We will play the last league match with full intensity even though we have qualified for the playoffs. This match will be good preparation for us ahead of the knockouts. We have the last chance to improve upon our game before the business end of the competition,'' said Prashanth.
The raider added that Haryana will have an upper hand against U Mumba since the Steelers have beaten them earlier in the season.
''We have beaten U Mumba early on in the tournament and therefore we will have the upper hand when we face them on Thursday. The mood in the camp is great after defeating Telugu Titans and we have had a five-day break as well. Therefore, the players are fresh and raring to go," said the 35-year-old.
However, the Steelers will have to be wary of the defensive duo Fazel Atrachali and Surinder Singh. Both U Mumba defenders complement each other well while tackling raiders. The Haryana players will have to be on point when they enter the U Mumba side of the mat. Prashanth said the Steelers will have their plans in place for the main U Mumba players.
''We will have a strategy for the main players in the U Mumba team, however, we won't focus too much on individuals. All players in the Haryana team have to ensure that they execute their plans properly,'' said Prashanth. (UNI)
