New Delhi, Oct 8: India's star tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Denis Shapovalov progressed to pre-quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters in the men's doubles beating the Russian pair Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov in straight sets in Shanghai on Tuesday.
The Indo-Canadian pair beat their rivals 6-1, 6-4 in the round of 32. Bopanna-Shapovalov bagged 56 points and their opponent garnered 38 points.
The winning pair fetched 4/7 break points while Russian pair Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov got 1/1 points.
The duo now take on the winner of the match between the pair of Borna Coric of Crotia and Runhao Hua of China and Polish-Brazilian combination of Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo. (UNI)
