Berlin, Oct 6 : Surender Singh of India created three world records at the ongoing World Powerlifting Championship here at Germany.
Surender bagged gold medal in 110 kg category, Classic Raw and the Best Lifter Award in Classic Raw and Single Ply.
Three-time World Champion Mukesh Singh, under the superb guidance of International Coach Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan went on to add another feather to his cap by winning yet another gold only to be known as 4-time World Champion.
The Indian contingent is performing to its best under the able guidance and leadership of Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan. Nirpal Singh also won silver in 110 kg Classic Raw event and Manpreet clinched gold in 100 kg. Classic Raw.
The total medal tally of Indian contingent is 4 gold, and 1 silver medal on the first day of the championship. Single events will be held on Monday.
Expressing his happiness over the performance of his players Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan said there is always a room at the top.(UNI)
