Bratislava, Sep 21 : Fribourg Olympic beat Inter Bratislava 89-50 in the second leg of the Champions League qualifiers first round at home on Friday, erasing their 15-point deficit from the first leg and sending the latter to pack.
With the dominant win, Fribourg, who lost to Inter Bratislava 82-67 in the away game on Tuesday, moves themselves to the second round of the Qualifiers. Bratislava put on a good start, not relying on their first leg triumph and leading Fribourg 19-14 after the first buzzer.
The home team changed its attitude and took the reins in the second quarter, almost erasing the deficit and taking a 38-25 lead at halftime. Early in the third quarter, Fribourg equalized with Bratislava and the visitors continually failed to answer the home team's offensive onslaught.
Canadian-born Murphy Burnatowski lead Fribourg in scoring with 20 points. Fribourg will challenge Bonn from Germany in the second round of the Champions League Qualifiers.
Bratislava still has a chance to make up for their failure. They will play in the group stage of the second-tier European FIBA Cup. (XINHUA)
