BEIJING, Sep 15 : Spain took a 43-31 first half lead over Argentina in the final of 2019 FIBA World Cup here on Sunday.
Spain opened up the game with a 11-2 run before Argentina answered a 11-0 run to trim the deficit to 1 point on 13-14. Spain surged a 17-1 run again to expand the lead to 17 point on 31-14 in the second quarter, in which Spain played a good defense and held Luis Scola scoreless.
Rudy Fernandez led Spain with 8 points. Nicolas Laprovittola scored a team-high 9 points for Argentina at the break.
Argentina shooting just 10-of-27 from the field, just 2 offensive rebounds for them, too, with Scola and Facundo Campazzo a combined 1-of-10 on field goals.
