Pasighat, Sep 9 : The 25th edition of the Hero Senior Women's National Football Championship 2019-20, which will kick-off at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday (September 10, 2019), promises an exciting contest among the participating states across India.
While four matches are scheduled on the opening day, defending champions Manipur, who are clubbed with West Bengal and Rajasthan in group G, kick-start their campaign against West Bengal on September 12.
Twenty-nine state teams along with Railways are divided into eight groups in the preliminary round. Eight group toppers will eventually, advance to the quarterfinals which will be followed by semi-finals and final on September 24.
Meanwhile, the North-eastern state showed huge enthusiasm for football during the Hero National Championship for Sub-junior 2018-19 when10,000-odd crowd thronged the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. The hosts finished runners-up having lost to Odisha in the final. (UNI)
