Accra, Sep 4 : Ghana's Black Queens, the country's national women's team, beat Gabon 2-0 to advance to the next stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualifiers.
Portia Boakye put the Queens ahead in the 15th minute after she slotted home a cross from the right flank before scoring her second goal in the 69th minute to ensure that Ghana completed the double over the Les Pantheres on Tuesday.
Ghana, chasing its first-ever Olympic qualification, progressed on a 5-0 aggregate following the Queens' 3-0 first-leg win in Libreville and will face Kenya in the next round of the qualifiers.
The overall winner after the fifth round will seal a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, while the runner-up will contest a play-off against Chile, the second-placed side in the South American qualifiers. (XINHUA)
