Belgrade, Aug 23 : Serbian Partizan overcame Norwegian Molde 2-1 in Belgrade in the first leg of the playoff race that will decide which of the two teams will proceed to the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. After a goalless first half with no significant chances on both sides, the guest team approached Partizan's goal in the 44th minute on Thursday. The ball reached Mathis Bolly in the danger zone, who sent it behind the keeper Vladimir Stojkovic for the initial lead. However, that didn't last long as the home team instantly replied - Zoran Tosic charged on the right side from a counterattack and assisted to Seydouba Soumah, who struck the equalizer before the half-time whistle.
Molde built up the pressure in the second half without creating bigger chances, while on the other hand Partizan waited until 84th minute, when Slobodan Urosevic defeated Molde's defense and assisted to Tosic who scored the winning goal. The third ranked team of the Serbian Superliga will meet second-ranked team of Norway's Eliteserien next week for the second leg of the playoffs.XINHUA
