Basel (Switzerland), Aug 20 : Indian shuttler H S Prannoy displayed his brilliance beating two time Olympic and 5-time World Champion Lin Dan of China in the second round of the World Badminton Championships here on Tuesday.
World no 30, Prannoy, edged past Dan 21-11, 13-21, 21-7 to reach the 3rd round of the championships ending the game in one hour and 2 minutes. The first game was won by Prannoy, but Dan came back strongly winning the second game 21-13 taking the game to third round.
However, in the decider Prannoy kept his composure and without much effort went to beat two-time Olympic champion 21-7. He is likely to face top seed and defending champion Kento Momoto, who will be action later in the day against Luis Enrique Penalver of Spain. (UNI)
