World Police Games 2019: Ashish Kapoor bags 2 gold in Tennis

Chandigarh, Aug 17 : Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in Vigilance Bureau Punjab, Ashish Kapoor has bagged gold medals by trouncing his opponents in both singles and doubles titles in Tennis events during the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) held from August 11-17 at Chengdu, China.

Disclosing this here on Saturday a spokesman for VB said, "Kapoor made the country proud by winning Gold medals for the consecutive four times in these games. He has been All India Police champion in tennis singles events for the last 15 years," he added.

It is mentioned here that WPFG games are held after every two years in which officers or officials from police and fire departments from all over the world compete in different events.

"In 2009 at Vancouver, Ashish had won a bronze medal in tennis singles. In New York games-2011, he fetched silver whereas in Belfast, Ireland (2013), Fairfax US (2015) and Los Angeles USA (2017) he clinched two gold medals," the spokesman further said. (UNI)
