BCCI trolled for Ravi Shastri’s reappointment as Indian coach

Agency News

Cricket fans in scores responded strongly against the decision of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reappoint of Ravi Shastri as the head coach of Indian cricket team.

Ravi Shastri was reappointed as Team India's head coach by a three member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) led by former Indian captain Kapil Dev on Friday. Soon after the news of Ravi Shastri’s reappointment, scores of cricket fans began to troll BCCI over the decision.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had handed the responsibility of choosing the next head coach of the Indian team to CAC comprising Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy.

Apart from Shastri, the other candidates who were interviewed include former Australia all-rounder and Sri Lanka coach Tom Moody and ex-New Zealand and Kings XI Punjab coach Mike Hesson. India's 2007 World T20-winning cricket manager Lalchand Rajput and Robin Singh were also participated in the selection process. While Mike Hesson appeared before CAC in person for the interview, Tom Moody, Phil Simmons and Ravi Shastri were interviewed on Skype. The sudden pull out of Phil Simmons from the interview process in the very last minute also raised doubts among cricket lovers.

Many flayed BCCI, saying Ravi Shastri's reappointment was a pre-determined drama. Some others criticised the CAC calling their decision a "farce".
