Chandigarh, Aug 3 : The 8th All-India under-19 Invitation Tournament will be held from August 24 to September 5.
Eight teams including hosts Punjab CA have been invited to participate in the cricket tournament.
According to Tournament Director Sushil Kapoor besides the hosts, HPCA, Kerala, CAB, MPCA, UPCA, Baroda and Mumbai CA are likely to take part in the tournament.
The teams will be divided into two pools and the top two teams will play in the finals.
The matches will be played at Dhruvv Pandove stadium Patiala, HR Saggi Cricket ground Patiala, Govt College, Ropar and PCA Stadium New Chandigarh (Mullanpur). The final will be played at Dhruv Pandove stadium Patiala.
The tournament is being played to perpetuate the memory of young Dhruv Pandove who died in freak road accident at the young age of 19 in 1992.
The winners will get a prize money of Rs 2 lakh and winners trophy while the runners-up will fetch Rs 1 lakh and runners-up trophy.(UNI)
